Christmas comes to campus
December 4, 2000
Dr. Sherry Hoppe hosted a holiday reception for faculty and staff at Archwood last Friday. An outdoor lighting ceremony followed.
On Sunday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m., the University choir, chamber singers and orchestra will add a musical note to the season with a free Christmas concert.
The annual “Hanging of the Green” and dedication of the poinsettias donated by APSU students, faculty and staff also will be part of the program. In the spirit of sharing, the poinsettias will be delivered to the local hospital and nursing homes, as well as to the homes of shut-ins and special friends.
The holiday concert will feature two outstanding works from the Baroque period of music history: Antonio Vivaldi's “Gloria” and Johann Sebastian Bach's “Magnificat.” The APSU Orchestra will provide accompaniment.
Refreshments will be served in the lobby immediately following the performance.
