Chamber to serve free on-campus lunch for APSU faculty and staff
April 22, 2002
In recognition of Austin Peay's Founders Day and what the University means to the community, the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon Wednesday, April 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Whitt's Barbeque will tote 140 pounds of barbequed pork, 20 gallons of baked beans and 25 gallons of potato salad into the Dunn Center for the occasion.
As part of the event, the cover design of "A History of Austin Peay State University, 1927-2002, and Its Predecessors, 1806-1926" will be unveiled. Those in attendance will be given an opportunity to pre-order copies.
"The lunch is part of the Chamber's recognition of the University's 75th Anniversary Celebration," says Michelle Dickerson, marketing director of the Chamber. Since the kickoff of the event, the Chamber has included articles about the University and its alumni in its newsletter, highlighted the University on its Web site, sponsored a tailgate party and covered the printing costs of the 75th Anniversary poster.
