Art by APSU professor spotlighted on magazine cover

Artwork by a professor of art at Austin Peay is featured on the cover of “Shenandoah: The Washington and Lee University Review.”
The Fall 2002 issue features a photograph taken by Susan Hicks Bryant in the 1839 Trustees Office at the Shaker community in Pleasant Hill, Ky. Titled “Shaker Spiral,” the black-and-white photograph was colored with an oil glaze by the artist.
Bryant has taught photography at APSU for the past 20 years. Her hand-colored black-and-white panoramic images are in numerous collections and have been exhibited in solo and juried exhibitions throughout the United States.
“Shenandoah” has published award-winning fiction, essays and interviews since 1950. Work published in the magazine is included regularly in such anthologies as “The Best American Short Stories” and “Prize Stories: The O. Henry Awards.”
