Austin Peay secretaries can enroll in the Fort Campbell Center's online Seminar for Professional Secretaries I (AOM 2900) at no charge. Tuition for the pass/fail seminar is covered through PC 191 scholarship benefits.
The course is a partial review that prepares students for the Certified Professional Secretaries (CPS) exam, administered twice a year in May and November. Part II of the seminar will be offered online in January 2003.
In addition to a 9 percent pay raise for state employees, CPS holders receive 21 semester hours toward the Fort Campbell Center's associate of applied science degree in data processing with a secretarial procedures concentration.
“Offering the course online will open doors for students everywhere and, I believe our Austin Peay secretaries and members of the International Association for Administrative Professionals will find it especially helpful,” said Dr. Sue Evans, data processing program manager.
“In conjunction with the association's Tennessee chapter president, I have reviewed many programs, and we have yet to find any other CPS review courses online.”
Registration for the Fall II term runs Monday, Sept. 30 — Thursday, Oct. 3. Late registration is Friday, Oct. 4.
