Austin Peay State University will welcome the autumn season with the popular social event, Fall Fling.
Fall Fling, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 28 at the Clarksville Country Club, is a casual alternative to the formal and popular Candlelight Ball held annually in March.
“Fall Fling is not a fundraiser but a ‘friend’ raiser with fun as our major objective,” said Nikki Loos Peterson, director of the APSU Office of Alumni Relations. “We think it will be a really great way to close out summer and welcome the fall.”
In organizing the event, the planning committee wanted to provide an event that would appeal to people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with social hour, followed by dinner at 7. Dancing from 8-10 p.m. will feature the band, The Big Thrill – a seven-piece band that plays a variety of music ranging from the toe-tapping sounds of the ‘30s and ‘40s through the pulsating rhythm-and-blues beat of the “big chill” era, as well as the ‘80s, country and today’s top contemporary sounds.
Cost is $75 per couple, $40 per person. Attire for the evening is dressy casual.
Advance reservations are required by Wednesday, Sept. 19, and seating is limited. To reserve tickets or for more information, contact the APSU Office of Alumni Relations by telephone at 931-221-7979 or 800-264-2586. - Dr. Melony Shemberger
