How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice, David Steinquest might say. Steinquest, professor of music, just finished a 10-day tour with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra on its East Coast-Carnegie Hall Tour 2000.

"To perform at Carnegie Hall is the dream of every professional musician, and I am deeply honored and fortunate to have this opportunity," Steinquest said before the tour kicked off Sept.15 at Nashville's TPAC. Other tour stops were the Grand Opera House, Wilmington, Dela.; Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy, N.Y.; and Weis Center for the Performing Arts (Bucknell University), Lewisburg, Pa..

The stop at Carnegie Hall extends Steinquest's already-impressive list of musical accomplishments. He has played with a diverse group of artists such as classical great Itzak Perlman, jazz artist George Benson, and pop-music star Amy Grant.
