CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Since 2009, friends and alumni of Austin Peay State University have gathered in September for an evening of dinner, dancing and socializing. This new tradition, known as the Fall Fling, will continue on Sept. 13, with a new venue – Valor Hall Conference and Event Center in Oak Grove, Ky. – and a couple of other surprises for guests as well.
The Fall Fling jumpstarts the fall semester at APSU each year and serves as a casual alternative to the formal Candlelight Ball held each spring. It is not a fundraiser, but rather a means of fostering friendships within the APSU community.
“We think it will be a really great way to close out the summer and welcome the fall,” Nikki Loos Peterson, director of the APSU Office of Alumni Relations, said.
This year’s Fall Fling will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and dancing from 8 to 10 p.m. Cost is $75 per couple, $40 per person. Attire for the evening is dressy casual.
Advance reservations are required by Sept. 6, and seating is limited. To reserve tickets by credit card, visit http://fallfling2013.eventbrite.com. Please mail checks, payable to APSU, to Box 4676, Clarksville, TN 37044. For more information, contact the APSU Office of Alumni Relations at 931-221-7979 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
