APSU employees share recent professional developments, activities


            CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced a number of publications, conferences and credentials as part of their professional and scholarly activities.


Darren Michael, associate professor of acting/directing, had his latest play, “VOICE ACTIVATED,” featured as part of Playhouse Nashville's Ten Minute Haunted Playhouse on Oct. 13 and 14 at the Street Theater in Nashville.


On Oct. 11, Dr. Minoa Uffelman, APSU associate professor of history, participated in a panel on Dorothy Dix at the Ohio Valley History Conference at Western Kentucky University, along with Dr. Ellen Kanervo, APSU professor emeritus of communication, and Dr. Melony Shemberger, assistant professor of journalism at Murray State University. Later that afternoon, Uffelman traveled to the Southern Festival of Books in Nashville to serve on a panel discussing the Civil War book “Disunion.” Uffelman previously wrote about this topic for the New York Times’ Disunion series.
