APSU employees share recent professional developments, activities

            CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced a number of publications, conferences and credentials as part of their professional and scholarly activities.

Brad Kirtley, director of sports information, was inducted into the APSU Athletics Hall of Fame on Feb. 1, having spent the last 30 years promoting and supporting the different sports programs in that department. During his career, Kirtley has spearheaded multiple publicity and All-America campaigns. He also helped coordinate national publicity efforts with media outlets such as NBC, CBS, USA Today and Los Angeles Times. He has represented Austin Peay by volunteering at NCAA events, such as the Basketball Regional in Nashville in March 2012. He also has been invited to work at this spring’s NCAA Women’s Final Four in Nashville.

Darren Michael, associate professor of theatre and dance, had his latest short play, “MASTERPIECE,” performed as a part of Playhouse Nashville’s Ten Minute Playhouse on Feb. 9-10. Michael also performed in a play and directed another work during the two-day event.
