Austin Peay presents a performance by Baltimore's premier African heritage dance ensemble, African Resurrection, as part of its African American History Month celebration.
The performance will begin at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the African American Cultural Center.
Founded for the purpose of promoting authentic West African art forms as vehicles of cultural expression, African Resurrection bases its exciting program of traditional dance, drum and folklore on the concept of Sankofa—reaching back to move forward.
PeaSoup Open Mic Night will follow at 8 p.m., allowing participants an opportunity to express themselves through words, rhythm and sounds.
Both events are free and open to the public. For complete information regarding these and all other African American History Month events, log on to www.apsu.edu/aacc
