75th Anniversary plans in full swing

Representatives from all campus constituencies, as well as several from the Clarksville community, have met throughout the year to plan activities for the University's yearlong celebration.

The theme, "Reaching New Heights," is open to multiple interpretations. Figuratively speaking, the University is reaching new heights in academic programming, student services, myriad methods of education delivery, alumni outreach, and recruitment and marketing initiatives.

With the completion of the new science building, one of city's tallest structures, Austin Peay is also literally reaching new heights.

The logo, which incorporates the theme, gives the feeling of both upward movement and stability. The words"75th Anniversary," along with the years 1927-2002 and an image of the Browning building's clock tower, rest on a bar, within which is the name of the University. The bar serves as a foundation for the other elements of the logo.

The many 75th anniversary activities will be announced in August, as the University and Clarksville kick off a celebration of this historic milestone.
