Anne Marie Padelford
Anne Marie Padelford graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN with degrees in Piano Performance and German. She holds a Master’s of Music in Collaborative Piano from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Before coming to Austin Peay State University, Ms. Padelford was a staff accompanist at UNCSA in Winston-Salem, NC.
During her studies at Belmont, she lived as an exchange student in Dresden, Germany for one year and studied piano with Professor Detlef Kaiser at the Hochschule für Musik, Carl Maria von Weber. Upon graduation Anne Marie received a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship to Austria where she taught English as a foreign language for two years. After returning to Nashville in 2007, she worked full time as a free-lance pianist at Belmont University and at the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, serving as organist and pianist at a local church and playing for choral concerts, weddings, funerals and various events.
In 2010 she attended the Vancouver International Song Institute in Vancouver, Canada where she participated as a vocal pianist. Ms. Padelford has performed in masterclasses with various pianists, singers, and instrumentalists including Cameron Stowe, Margo Garrett, François Le Roux, and Rosemarie Landry. Her piano teachers include Janice Murray, Alice Adams Jackson, Robert Marler, and Allison Gagnon.
