Heidi O'Gara Jellison

Harpist Heidi O’Gara Jellison holds a Master of Music degree in Harp Performance from the Shepherd School of Music, Rice University, Houston, Texas, where she studied with Paula Page, principal harpist with the Houston Symphony.  Heidi received her undergraduate degree, also in Harp Performance, from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Oberlin, Ohio, where she studied with Alice Chalifoux and Yolanda Kondonassis, both internationally celebrated harpists.  A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Heidi began studying the harp at the age of nine with Omaha Symphony principal harpist, Mary Walter Bircher. 

Heidi resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where she teaches at Belmont University and Austin Peay State University, maintains a large studio for private lessons, and freelances throughout Middle Tennessee.  She is Principal Harpist with Orchestra Kentucky and Wintergreen Festival Orchestra, and performs regularly with the Nashville and Knoxville Symphony Orchestras, and various ensembles throughout the country. 

In 2003, Heidi moved from Virginia where she was Principal Harpist with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Charlottesville University Symphony Orchestra; directed the Roanoke Youth Harp Ensemble; was the Harp Instructor at the University of Virginia, Hollins University, and Liberty University; freelanced; and taught private students throughout Central Virginia.
