Graduate Admission for Studies in Music
To be admitted as a graduate student in music at APSU you must:
The process for applying to graduate programs in music is outlined below.
Graduate Audition Dates for Fall 2015 Entrance
- Saturday, February 14 (afternoon)
- Wednesday, February 25 (3:30-5pm)
- Wednesday, March 4 (3:30-5pm)
- Saturday, March 21 (afternoon)
- Wednesday, March 25 (3:30-5pm)
- Saturday, March 28 (afternoon)

1. Apply to the College of Graduate Studies:
NOTE: Master of Music students are exempt from taking the GRE.

2. Schedule an audition.
Students may schedule an audition by submitting the Online Audition request see link below.
An accompanist will be provided if applicants send pdf copies of audition music to Anne Marie Padelford (Staff Accompanist and Coordinator of Accompanying) at least two weeks prior to the audition.

Auditions are normally held on selected Saturdays and on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 5:00 P.M. If there are extenuating circumstances, alternate audition arrangements may be made. Those who wish to be considered for an assistantship must audition by the last week of March.

Graduate Assistantships are available for fall and spring semesters to students by competitive audition and include stipends of varying amounts and out-of-state tuition fee waivers. (Note: The audition must take place by the last week of March in order to be considered for a graduate assistantship).
