Dr. Christopher Vivio
Adjunct Faculty, Tuba/Euphonium
Dr. Christopher Vivio, tuba and euphonium currently serves as the adjunct professor at Austin Peay State University. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Illinois State University, a Master of Music in Tuba Performance from Penn State University and a Doctor of the Musical Arts from of the University of Memphis. Vivio’s teachers include Dave Zerkel, Jeff Graves, Sharon Huff, Michael Forbes, Velvet Brown, John Mueller and Charles Schulz.
Dr. Vivio is an active performer presenting recitals, master classes and lectures around the United States and Europe. Dr. Vivio is a member of the Belmont Brass Quintet, and has subbed with the Memphis Brass Quintet, Memphis Symphony, Prague Symphony, and was the principle tuba of the Altoona Symphony from 2003-2005. He has also performed solo recitals and lectures at the Southeast Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference, Mid-South Tuba and Euphonium Regional Conference, Washington D.C Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop, and the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference in Linz, Austria. In 2013 Dr. Vivio will perform at the Northeast and Midwest Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conferences.
