Ann Silverberg
Professor of Music
Music History and Ethnomusicology

Ann Silverberg is Professor of Music at Austin
Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee. She teaches
music history, music literature, ethnomusicology, and music
appreciation classes and serves as the President of the Board of
Directors of the Clarksville Community Concert Association. Her
research interests include music in China and Chinese music,
American music, and liturgical music. Silverberg holds the
Ph.D. in musicology from the University of Illinois,
Urbana-Champaign in addition to Master’s degrees in Anthropology
(Vanderbilt University, 1998), Library and Information Science
(University of Illinois, 1993) and Musicology (Indiana
University Bloomington, 1984).
