Welcome to the department of music at Austin Peay State University. We hope that your visit to our website will encourage you to take a closer look at our program.

The department of music offers comprehensive and quality undergraduate and graduate degree programs, which develop and shape competent musicians, educators, performers, and conductors. Students are provided with superior training under the guidance of distinguished, committed, and caring artist-teaching faculty. Opportunities for solo and ensembles experiences abound in large and small vocal and instrumental ensembles. We are excited of our Community School of the Arts and the cultural enrichment provided to our program through the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts.

All of our music degree programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. We are housed in the state-of-the-art Music/Mass Communication building with a 600-seat concert hall.
