Anne
Glass, Professor of Music, is a native of South Carolina. She attended Coker
College and graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Music degree.
She holds a Master of Music degree in piano performance from George Peabody
College. Associated with the music department since 1962, she has been a
full-time member of the faculty since 1975. She teaches piano and Music 2050,
a course for non-majors. Most active as an accompanist she attended the
Franz-Schubert Institut in Baden, Austria where she participated in master
classes of German lieder with Jorg Demus, Ely Ameling, Walter Berry, Erik
Werba and Hans Hotter. She is frequently heard in APSU recitals where she
has collaborated with every member of the instrumental and vocal faculty.
She is organist at Trinity Episcopal Church, Clarksville, and is an active
member of the musical life of the community. She holds membership and is
past president of the local chapter of NFMC. Her private studio students
regular win highest honors in the NFMC Festival held each spring at APSU.
She has served on the board of the Clarksville Community-APSU Concert Series
for a decade and may be seen accompanying various high school choirs during
concert season. She seves as adjudicator for piano audtions at schools and
colleges in the surrounding area.
