Building Supervisor     Apply for this position
Job Description 

Oversee the operation and all activities occurring in the University Center and Clement Auditorium.

Perform regular rounds of the building.

Report any activities which are illegal, destructive or violate the APSU Code of Conduct to appropriate authorities.

Monitor all events occurring within the facility and provide equipment, technical help or other assistance as needed.

Perform all duties necessary to maintain the security of the facility. These include, but are not limited to, locking doors at the end of each shift, mopping up spills and removing any obstructions from walkways, notifying appropriate officials of potential or actual safety hazards, etc.

Monitor the conditions of all areas of the building. Notify the Director of Student Life or designee of needed repairs.

Check set ups for all events occurring within the facility. Set/reset rooms for events as necessary.

Wear your name tag and/or University Center shirt at all times when working. Identify yourself as a Building Supervisor when approaching situations.

When necessary, confront situations in a manner that is fair, firm and consistent. If you have any doubts about your ability to handle a given situation, contact the Public Safety Office.

Maintain accurate logs on all events, rounds, condition of facilities, and any significant happenings occurring during the shift. (Building Supervisor Log, Facility Use Reports and Departmental Incident Report when appropriate).

Arrive on time for your shift. Call the University Center Office if you expect to be late.

Unless you are doing a round or working an event, remain in the Information Desk Area.

Remain physically present in the University Center or Clement Auditorium at all times. Should an emergency arise, notify Public Safety of the situation before exiting the building.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be an APSU Full time student and have completed 12 hour at APSU

Must be able to work a flexible schedule

Experience in supervising, opening and closing facilities is preferred.

Knowledge in sound reinforcement and stage lighting is a plus.

Job Description

Approximate number of hours per week: 15 - 20  

Qualifications:

Must have previous experience operating audio, video and light equipment (experience in theater or rock n=roll a plus) and a computer.  

Must be able to lift and move sound equipment tables and chairs, etc.  

Punctuality, positive, professional attitude, & people skills is a must!  

This job requires nights, weekends, some daytime hours depending on the event and possibly some holidays.  

Duties and Responsibilities

Run sound and lights or monitor all events (theater and dance shows, etc.) occurring within the Clement Auditorium, University Center and other locations on campus.

Provide equipment and technical help or other assistance as needed.

Check set ups for all events occurring within the Clement Auditorium and University Center, set up for events as necessary.  

Perform all duties necessary to maintain the security of the facility.

May be required to transport performers in a University vehicle.
