floor (Layout)
(Capacity/Equipment)Highlights
In addition to the comfort and elegance of the University Center’s
social spaces, meeting rooms are outfitted with state-of-the-art
equipment to make your presentations shine. Whether a large conference
or small group, your event will reflect the polish and professionalism
of the center’s namesake and past APSU President Joe Morgan. The latest
multi-media tools, individual data ports and white boards are some of
the standard amenities offered to ensure successful, productive
meetings. And spaces within the 93,000-square-foot building can be
customized to accommodate events of varying sizes.
Location
The University Center is centrally located on campus. The building’s
main entrance faces the University Bowl and Felix G. Woodward Library.
Its west wing runs along Browning Drive behind the Browning Building.
Parking
Free parking, with handicap access, is available in McCord, Armory,
Trahern and off-campus lots within a short distance of the University
Center.
Handicap Access
Exterior ramps at main and basement entrances and an interior elevator
provide handicap access. Wheelchair space is available in all meeting
rooms and office, exhibit and reception areas of the building.
Multimedia
Wiring in all meeting rooms provides computer access to Internet and
networked services as well as telephone capability. Other features
include cable hookups, built-in drop down screens and
sound-reinforcement systems to minimize external noise.
Room 307, a tiered training room with fixed tables, offers Internet and
telephone service at individual seats and a built-in marker board and
LCD projector.
Television monitors, videocassette and DVD players, overhead and slide
projectors, a portable projector screen, podiums, microphones and
multidimensional tables and chairs are available for each room.
Customized Capacity
Seating is designed to match the scale of your event. Built-in
collapsible partitions allow meeting rooms to be split into separate
areas. Rooms 306, 308, 310 and 312 are adjoined and can be opened to
create a one-, two- or three-room area. Rooms 303 and 305 also can be
combined or divided.
Lobby
A third floor lobby with comfortable furnishings provides an informal
lounge space to relax. The lobby is wired for Internet, network and
sound service and is large enough to hold extra tables and chairs.
Catering
Several on-site food vendors are available to accommodate your
preferences. For a quick bite, the food court offers sandwiches, salads
and sides at Montague’s Deli, Bene Pizza and Pasta and Chick-Fil-A.
Aromatic coffees and a café ambience set the tone for a leisurely coffee
break at neighboring Java City. And gourmet dining – from specialty
boxed lunches to multiple-course meals – can be supplied by Aramark, a
full-service caterer and leader in the hospitality industry.
Pre-approved outside caterers are welcome, and food can be brought into
meeting rooms or enjoyed in the University Center’s numerous lounge and
dining areas.
