I have taught brief organic chemistry lectures and laboratories at APSU several times since 1983.  I have written a lab text that is to be used along with Zubrick's 6th edition of the Organic Chem Lab Survival Manual.  Laboratories are macroscale using 24/40 chem kits.

I generally give four one-hour tests and a final exam per semester in the lecture class.  Students may exempt the final exam with an average of 95 or better.

Lab grades are based upon participation (3 pts per lab), quiz grades (4 pts per lab), data sheet grades (8 pts per experiment), spectral submissions (up to 8 pts per spectral set depending on work involved), sample labeling (2 pts per sample), and lab equipment (20 pts). Data sheets and spectral submissions are due on the Friday after lab by 12:00 noon and should be available to students at the following lab meeting.
