To be eligible for an NSF scholarship, you must:
- Be a current or future APSU mathematics or physics student
- Demonstrate financial need based on your Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
How is an application packet submitted?
1. Apply for Admission
to APSU and indicate your
intended major as Mathematics and/or Physics OR be a current APSU student with Mathematics and/or Physics as
your declecared major.
2. Complete your FAFSA.
3. Complete an Online
MaPS Application Form.
4. Ask two teachers or professors who are familiar with
your academic talents to submit an Online
MaPS Recommendation Form on your behalf.
5. Email your Resume to MaPS@apsu.edu
. Please format your resume in Word or as a pdf
file.
Any student awarded an NSF scholarship
grant, must take part in
the Mathematics and Physics (MaPs) Institute at APSU during the
fall and spring semesters on Tuesday and Thursday
afternoons.
All first time freshmen who receive any
funding will be required to register for APSU 1000 for
Mathematics & Physics Majors which meets on Tuesday and
Thursdays from 1:00 pm - 1:55 pm, a designated section of MATH
1910 Calculus and a designated section of PHYS 2110 University
Physics. Once you are notified of you award, mathematics
and physics professors will work with you to develop your fall
schedule OR adjust your fall schedule.
