  Summer Coursework
To stay on track for a timely graduation, it’s important you are able to take calculus during your first semester as a physics or mathematics major. If a review of your ACT scores and your teachers’ letters of recommendation reveal you are not ready for calculus, you will be required to take college algebra and/or pre-calculus during the summer.

College algebra will be offered during the Summer I term and pre-calculus will coincide with the MaPs Institute during the Summer II term. You will be responsible for tuition and fees associated with the course(s) you take. A limited number of scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and academic achievement.

Other financial aid options are available through the Office of Financial Aid. Call (931) 221-7907 or visit www.apsu.edu/FinancialAid to learn more.

says Lori Schultz, who studies tornadoes within land-falling hurricanes as a graduate student and research assistant at the University of Alabama at Huntsville.

“My mathematics and physics background allows me to understand atmospheric science – and I can do the math-heavy homework without fear.”
