At
Home with Hoppe
You've heard rumors about her courage in the face of great challenges.
Despite budget battles and several other skirmishes, she's led the
University through many minefields- emerging unscathed to plant her
flag and rally the troops to follow her dreams for APSU. But what
makes Sherry run? Get to know the person and you'll understand the
president.
Happy
75th Birthday, APSU!
We're "Reaching New Heights," and we invite you to join in the
University's 75th anniversary celebration during 2001-2002. Like
someone on a roller-coaster ride, we've known the thrill of the highs
and caught our breath briefly when we hit a low. But, all in all, it's
a great ride-and the view from the top is spectacular. Enjoy!
Speaking
of Excitement
Michael Blair ('87) found a way to turn irrepressible enthusiasm and a
desire to "make people happy" into a lucrative career.
Featured speaker for Spring Commencement 2001, Mike Blair abandons all

Is
Truth Stranger than Fiction?
From across the aeons, an intelligence far exceeding man's reaches
Earth. What happens next? Read on, says William Russo, renowned
Memphis cardiologist turned sci-fi author.
Hassell Goes
Pro!
Fly Williams. Bubba Wells. Legendary names in college basketball. But
Trenton Hassell may well become APSU's brightest star. Predicted to go
in the first round but caught by Fickle Fate, Hassell was the first
pick in the second round, chosen by Chicago. Go, Hassell-grab
those Bulls by the horns!

Adoption. Last resort or a special beginning?
The
man and his mentor
He walks
with the exuberance of youth and talks with the enthusiasm of one who
loves his work. What isn't obvious is the humility Dr. Jaime Taylor
('90) feels to be following in the footsteps of his mentor, the
late Dr. Bob Sears.
