Meet the Office of Learning Opportunities Staff

Dr. Spearman came to APSU in 2012 after serving for six years in several capacities including: Recruitment Specialist, Student Success Coordinator and oversaw the Student Success Freshmen Seminar at Texas A&M University-Texarkana. She graduated from Grambling State University with a B.A. degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and received her Master of Science in Business Administration at Texas A&M University-Texarkana. She earned her Ed.D. in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change at Lipscomb University. During her time at the Peay, she has been involved in many activities and leadership roles including directing the Student Transition's office for four years prior to accepting her current role as Director of Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). She has served as a Mentor for the Achievers & Scholars African American Male Mentor program as well as a host of other committees and student retention initiatives. Professional and personal affiliations include: National Orientation's Directors Association, Women in Higher Education in Tennessee (WHET), and serves as the Treasurer for the Clarksville Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Allie holds a Master of Science in Management degree from Austin Peay State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Education from Union University. Allie first joined the staff of Austin Peay as Administrative Assistant III in the Office of Academic Affairs in June, 2011 before moving into the role of Learning Opportunities Coordinator in October of 2014. Allie also serves as the Executive Director for the Tennessee Theatre Association. Professional affiliations include the Society for Human Resource Management, Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society, and the Southeastern Theatre Conference.

Joi came to work as Administrative Assistant III for the Learning Opportunities Center in August, 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay State University and received Chief Municipal Finance Officer certification from the University of Tennessee in 2012.
