Mission Statement

The Office of the University Attorney at Austin Peay State University is committed to providing excellent service in all areas of responsibility entrusted to our office. The staff of the office endeavor to advance the vision, mission and goals of the university. Our Mission is accomplished by:

• Providing advice and counsel on legal matters confronting the university and its administrators.
• Reviewing and approving all contracts prior to university execution.
• Supporting and implementing the execution of Austin Peay State University’s mission statement’s goals, by providing legal counsel and guidance consistent with Tennessee law and Tennessee Board of Regents policy.
• Serving as the official repository for all university policies.
