The University Attorney provides legal counsel and representation to Austin Peay State University in legal matters and concerns affecting the University and its operation. As part of that function, the Office of the University Attorney provides the following services:
advises university administrators, faculty, and staff concerning legal requirements and risks in order to reduce the University's exposure to liability;
contract review, negotiation and drafting;
represents the University in administrative law proceedings and in legal matters before state and federal administrative agencies;
assists the Office of the Attorney General in the University's representation in litigation.
