Tutoring Services
Tutors are available in most core and many upper division
courses. Some of the courses for which
tutoring is offered include, but are not limited to:
Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, and
English.
Our tutors have completed an extensive training program, have completed the course they
are tutoring with an A or B, and have been
recommended by an APSU faculty member.
You may
receive assistance from one of our tutors on either a
scheduled, walk-in, or on-line basis.
Scheduled:
If you would like to work with a tutor each week, please visit the Academic
Support
Center and complete an application. The Instructional
Specialist will then assign a tutor to work with you.
Please understand, as hard as we try, there are times
when a tutor will not be available to meet your specific
academic needs. Your tutoring sessions will be held in
the Academic Support Center. How often and when you meet with
your tutor will be based upon tutor availability and
your schedule.
Walk-in:
If you don't think you need someone to work with you on
a regular basis but know you may need sporadic academic
assistance, you may "walk-in" to the Center for general academic assistance. Please
understand, "walk-in" assistance will not be available
in all academic areas. However, our staff will be happy
to tell you when someone will be available! Click here
to see the
schedule of classes supported on a walk-in basis.
On-line: If you are not able to visit the Academic
Support Center or you just need a short answer to a
question, you may e-mail your questions to
academicsupportctr@apsu.edu. Our goal is to respond
to e-mail questions within two business days. We will
only send responses to APMail accounts.
