     SPAN 4520____ Survey of Spanish Peninsular Literature II (3)
     SPAN 4610____ Survey of Spanish American Literature I (3)
     SPAN 4620____ Survey of Spanish American Literature II (3)

 

Licensure to Teach Spanish

The program described above fulfills requirements in the content area leading to teacher-licensure. As part of the licensure process, a student planning to teach Spanish in middle or high school should complete the major in Foreign Languages with a Spanish concentration and the minor in Professional Education.

In addition, the student must take the following course:

     LING 4400 Teaching Foreign Languages in the Secondary School (3 hours)

The student must take one of the following courses:

     SPAN 3040 Study Abroad Program in Spanish: Spain and 
         Spanish America (6-8 hours)
     SPAN 304A Study Abroad--Mexico (6-8 hours)
     SPAN 304B Study Abroad--Spain (6-8 hours)
