Study-Abroad Program · Summer · Four Weeks

Program Overview:         

Through this program, you will take part in an intensive German language program at the Language Institute of the Universität Klagenfurt. You will reside at Wörther Lake in the Alps, just a 10-minute walk from the university. In your leisure time, you'll get a taste of Austrian culture - including real strudel and schnitzel - during activities such as day trips, cultural events, sports activities and a three-day visit to Vienna. You must have basic knowledge of German or instructor permission.

Courses:                                                                                                                                               You will register for APSU's GERM 3040 Study Abroad in German, choosing from studies in beginning German, intermediate German, advanced German, literature and Austrian culture.

General Itinerary: 

We will travel from Vienna to Klagenfurt and then back to Vienna. If you wish to travel with a group of students, you will fly out of -and into -Nashville International Airport (BNA).  The itinerary is tentative and subject to change.

Lodging and Meals:

You'll reside in a double occupancy room in a modern dormitory with cooking facility. Single rooms cost more and are available upon request. You'll receive a meal stipend each week.

Cost :                                                                                                                                                     Level 4 includes APSU tuition, money for meals, activities and bus pass, airfare, double-occupancy room and breakfast, Vienna trip (train, hotel, museum)

*Price is based upon the estimated cost of the program and grouped into levels. Level 1 - $2k-3k; Level 2 - $3k-4k; Level 3 - $4k-5k; Level 4 -  $5k-6k ; Level 5 - $6k-7k. Prices are subject to change due to increase in airfare, fluctuation of currency exchange and changes in tuition and fee rates. Estimated cost may not include airfare, APSU tuition, or health coverage unless specified. You should also budget funds for personal expenses based upon your spending habits.  

Financial Aid: 

Your current scholarships and financial aid may apply toward the cost of the program. Call the Office of Student Financial Aid at (931) 221-7907 to schedule an appointment with financial aid counselor, Cathy Naef. Payment Schedule and Deadlines:

· Apply by February 28.                                                                               

· Submit your first payment by March 10.

· Pay your remaining balance by April 15.
