Math colloquium to feature talk on capturing nano bugs 11/18/2008
Austin Peay State University Department of Mathematics will present a talk by Dr. Ashish Mathur on capturing nano bugs.
The presentation will begin at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19 in the Clement Auditorium. Refreshments will be available before the presentation at 3:15 p.m.
Titled “Capturing Nano Bugs: A Scientific Approach,” Mathur’s presentation focuses on a multidisciplinary approach to designing an effective filter that can capture nano-size contaminants such as bacteria and viruses present in air and water.
Mathur is the vice president of research and technology for Ahlstrom Filtration LLC in Madisonville, Ky. Mathur has a Ph.D. in Polymers and Fiber Science from Cornell University.
