Residence Services

Laundry Services:
Twenty-four-hour laundry rooms are located in all halls and apartments. State-of-the-art, Maytag washers and dryers are available to students at a no charge.

Internet connection

Internet connections are available for each student in every residence. Students are expected to adhere to all TBR and APSU policies, procedures and guidelines for network usage. Information on configuration and connecting can be found at: http://www.apsu.edu/helpdesk/Residential_Network.htm

Telephone Services:

All halls and apartments are provided with local phone service, including voice mail or call waiting. Students living in halls and apartments should bring their own phones. Students wishing to contract a long-distance account may do so through the University's office of telephone services. Charges for these calls are placed directly on the student's account, and a bill is mailed to the student's on-campus post office box. Failure to pay the phone bill by the due date will cause the student's long-distance account to be canceled, and their student account frozen until the bill is paid. Students may use a long-distance calling card brought from home.

For more information on Telephone Services go to http://www.apsu.edu/telephone

Housing Channel:

Halls and apartments receive free extended (non-premium) cable television service. Additionally, residents have access to the Housing Channels 12  and 23. Channel 23 shows first-run feature movies every night. When movies are not being shown, the channel runs useful information via a video bulletin board format. Channel 12, lists nformation focuses on housing issues, deadlines and upcoming residence hall programs, though other major university announcements are posted as well.

Private Rooms:

There are a limited number of private rooms available on a first-come, first-served application basis. These rooms are in Hand Village, 1st floor of Cross, Sevier, Blount and Harvill halls for women, and in Hand Village, 1st floor of Cross, Miller and Harvill halls for men. At other times during the year, based on space availability, students may reserve a private room during the University's Great Change Day. Private rooms obtained during Great Change Day are guaranteed for the semester of the change only. Student will be charged a private room rate for the semester.

Other Housing and Campus Services:

Trained residence hall staff make regular rounds of residence halls, and are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help meet student needs.
Lobby areas in each hall and apartment are equipped with vending machines and televisions, where students can meet and study together. Also, kitchen areas with stoves and microwaves are available in each hall.
Campus police are on duty 24 hours a day, and can be contacted quickly via an emergency phone number.
Meal plans are available to all residents in groups of unlimited access,10 meal or declining balance( or Plus Dollar) meals per week. Options include fast-food-style dining in the Grill, or meals in the cafeteria. For more information about food services, call (931) 221-7474.

Summer Camps and Conferences:

Certain APSU residence halls are open during the summer to host summer camps and conferences. We offer a variety of options, which can be tailored to meet needs of each group. During conferences, halls are supervised by a conference assistant -- a student housing staff member. This assistant is available to help with housing-related issues from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day the building is occupied, as well as aiding in check-in and check-out. Click on Camps and Conferences at the top of this page or call the Housing office at (931) 221-7444 for more information about conference rates, rules and regulations and the conference period.
