More than 600 freshmen
who will be living on campus and their parents will descend
upon Clarksville on August 21 with two goals – to get their
respective students situated in their rooms, while at the
same time maintaining the sanity of all involved. It can be
an intensely stressful situation for the students and their
families as they take on the physical challenge of move-in
while also experiencing the myriad of emotions that come
when a son or daughter leaves the nest and goes off to
college.
A smiling face and a
helping hand can make the situation better. That is where
Austin Peay’s faculty and staff enter the picture.
Housing/Residence Life and Dining Services are seeking
motivated faculty and staff to join the “Freshman Welcome
Wagon” and assist our new students and their families during
move in.
Freshmen move in is
scheduled from 8 – 2 pm on Thursday, August 21st.
Please sign up and welcome our students to campus.
Simply send an email to
morrowk@apsu.edu indicating the time you would like to
volunteer on Thursday, August 21st and your
t-shirt size. All
volunteers will need to complete a Volunteer
Agreement form.
Tshirts will be given to faculty/staff volunteers.
Don’t miss your chance to
show our new students how pleased you are that they chose
Austin Peay!
