Dr. Lowell G. Roddy, Director of Health Services and Student Counseling Services, has been with Austin Peay State University since December 2001. Prior to his employment with Austin Peay, Dr. Roddy was an active duty Army chaplain for almost 26 years. A qualified pastoral counselor, he was selected by the Army for additional graduate training in marriage and family therapy in 1985. He served as director of several family counseling programs in subsequent years. He was on the faculty and staff of the Army Chaplain Center & School for five years prior to coming to Fort Campbell for his retirement.
Dr. Roddy’s degrees include a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Bethel College, a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Care & Counseling from Memphis Theological Seminary, a Master of Theology degree in Theology and Personality from Princeton Seminary, a Master of Education degree in Family Therapy from the University of Louisville, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Memphis Theological Seminary. He is a licensed marital and family therapist. Professional memberships include the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors, and the Southeastern College Counseling Center Personnel.
Dr. Sherley is our sponsoring physician. He is Board Certified in Family Practice. Dr. Sherley attended the University of Memphis (undergraduate), University of North Texas Science Center in Ft. Worth, TX (medical school) and did his residency in Dallas, TX. He came to APSU in Fall of 2000. He is married and has three children.
Dr. Miller is Board Certified in Family Practice and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Miller attended the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and the F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine. He did his residency at Dewitt Army Community Hospital. Dr. Miller's interests include reading, biking, running and stained glass.
Jill received her Bachelor of Nursing from Austin Peay and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University. Her clinical interests include minor procedures and mental health issues. Jill is married and is the mother of two children. She enjoys camping, wildlife watching and is very active with her church and their youth group. Jill recently returned from a mission trip to Guatemala, where she helped paint a school and install water filters in twenty homes.
Kristy serves as Assistant Director/Family Nurse Practitioner at APSU Boyd Health Services. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and also maintains certification as a Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Kristy completed her BSN at Austin Peay State University and MSN at Frontier Nursing University. She completed a Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Frontier Nursing University. Her clinical interests include depression, reproductive health, and health promotion. She is a military spouse and mother of 3 children. She enjoys trout fishing, riding horses, reading, and exercise.
Joanne is originally from Roanoke, Virginia. She graduated from Roanoke Memorial School of Nursing and attended Dabney Lancaster College. She is married and has three daughters and three granddaughters. She loves to travel, especially to the Smokies, reading, card games and crafting.
Annette graduated from the University of Tennessee, College of Pharmacy. She has also worked with Warren's Apothecary for 44 years and is now working at Town and Country Pharmacy. She has been married for 44 years.
Leslie has been at APSU since 1986. She has a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida. She has been married for 25 years and has two children. Her interests include fishing and gardening.
Tracey received her certification as a medical assistant from Fortis College in Montgomery, Alabama. She has been married for 20 years and has two children. Tracey is originally from Dover, Tennessee, and after being away for many years as a military spouse, is happy to be back living in the area and working at APSU Health Services. Her interest include traveling, reading, and dancing.
