Peer Mentor Program

Program Description

The Peer Mentor serves as an upper classman APSU student, who will have the opportunity to encourage, educate, guide, advise and socialize with their freshman mentee in order to enhance freshman success and increase retention of Hispanic students at APSU.

Mentors - Upperclass Students

Upperclass students can apply to guide first year students as they adjust to college life at Austin Peay.  Hispanic students and students active in the Hispanic Cultural Center can apply to become a peer mentor by completing an application: Peer_Mentor_Program_Application_2012_2013.doc.

Mentees - First Year students of Hispanic heritage

The Peer Mentee is a freshmen or transfer APSU student, who will have the opportunity to be encouraged, educated, guided, and advised by an upperclassmen. The program is especially for Hispanic students but open to any freshman or transfer student with an interest in Spanish or Hispanic culture. To apply to be a mentee in the program, click here for an interest form. Submit to the HCC in UC 213.
