APSU Green Timeline
April 2015

 The Greener Campus Committee invites the APSU Community to help collect and donate 2015 pounds of recyclable aluminum cans to promote Earth Day this year.  Proceeds from the can collection on Thursday, April 23rd (9 am - 3 pm at UC Plaza) will be donated to APSU students in need.  Faculty organizations and other campus entities are also invited to help us reach our goal for this year.  There will also be giveaways from the committee on the day of the collection from 9am to 3pm.  Contact Robin Reed, committee chair, at for more information.

The "Green Peay Patrol" will be out in force to reward those folks caught doing something good for the Earth.  See stories and pictures on our Facebook page or here of some that we have caught so far.  You could be next!!

APSU Student Tristan Harper will be presenting information about solar cells and how they work as part of the XEM Green Lecture Series in the  Sundquist Science Complex E310 at 5 pm.  The event is open to the public.


APSU invests stimulus funds toward energy-saving projects, improvements
In the last couple of years, APSU has focused on water and energy conservation projects that so far have produced $1.4 million in energy savings, thanks largely to federal funding. And that’s not the full savings impact APSU will see.

Earth Day tie-dye T-shirts
Celebrate Earth Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday, April 19 in the Morgan University Center plaza by tie-dying a T-shirt. Bring your own white T-shirt and join SOARE (Student Organization for the Advancement of Renewable Energy) as the members teach you how to tie-dye to show your support for Mother Earth.
