Alpha Sigma Alpha

Alpha Sigma Alpha was founded at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia, in 1901. 100 years later the Zeta Omega Chapter was installed at Austin Peay on February 24, 2001. The Zeta Omega Chapter is one of the over 90 active collegiate chapters that can be found around the country. These chapters are made up of over 5,600 members and that number is constantly growing. There are over 78,000 lifetime members of Alpha Sigma Alpha, proving that our sisterhood goes far beyond our college years.

Our open motto is aspire, seek, attain. We use this motto as inspiration in our daily lives as collegiate women to reach for our goals. We were recognized in APSU's 2018 Greek Awards with six awards: Commitment to Excellence, Excellence in Scholarship Endeavors, Excellence Innovative Programming, Outstanding New Member Award, Most Improved Chapter, and the Senior Dedication Award.

Philanthropy and community service are a very important aspects to Alpha Sigma Alpha. We have three national philanthropic partners: Girls on the Run, Special Olympics, and the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation. We hold events throughout the year that benefit these philanthropies as well as working to serve our community. We collectively completed over 3,000 service hours in the past year.
