The Office of Student Transitions is dedicated to the successful acclimation of all new students to the APSU community. Whether a student is attending for the first time straight out of high school or is transferring in as a senior, it is critical that all students are equipped with the skills and knowledge to be successful. Success comes from knowing how to navigate the APSU campus, being aware of the numerous opportunities for growth and development and feeling a part of the APSU family. This office is here to provide a connection between the new student and APSU.
Along with serving as a liaison between new students and other academic and administrative departments; this office also delivers programs and services that are designed to address the special challenges and opportunities being a new student brings. One of those critical programs is Freshman Orientation. This two-day program is a requirement for all full-time, first-time freshmen and will provide the necessary information and guidance for students to begin classes with confidence. A separate, abbreviated orientation is also planned for transfer students and although it is not required, it is highly recommended that transfer students attend.
For more information on these and future programs, please contact the Director of Student Transitions at 931-221-7045 or spearmana@apsu.edu. We are glad that you have chosen APSU to further your education and find your place in the world!
