Regaining HOPE Lottery Eligibility
A student who was initially eligible for a HOPE Lottery Scholarship but lost eligibility due to
failure to meet required GPA may be eligible to regain HOPE
Lottery Scholarship
eligibility. Regain provision can be utilized one time only.
GPA is reviewed at the end of the semester in which you have
attempted a total of 24, 48, 72, 96, or any subsequent
multiples of 24 semester hours thereafter
Must meet the following requirements:
2.75 cumulative GPA at the end of 24 & 48 attempted hours
3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of any subsequent benchmark
semester thereafter in which continuation is reviewed
Ø
If student fails to achieve a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the 72
hour benchmark or thereafter, but has at least a 2.75
cumulative GPA “and” a semester GPA of at least 3.0, the
student shall continue receiving the HOPE Lottery Scholarship
Ø
The student is eligible on a semester-by-semester basis so
long as the student maintains full-time enrollment
Ø
If student achieves a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 at any
time when continuation is reviewed, then the student shall
be reviewed at the next benchmark
Ø
If student fails to achieve a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the 72
hour benchmark or thereafter and does not have a semester
GPA of at least 2.75, the student may regain the HOPE,
one-time only, under existing regain regulations at any
subsequent benchmark
Student may repeat one course one time as described under
existing statute
