Student Resources for Online Courses
This page contains links and tips that may be useful to you.

Making Contact
Being able to communicate electronically is critical to your success.  Here are some valid pointers on making communication as easy as possible.

  • A valid email address is essential to taking an online course.  Initial notifications, including the instructions for accessing your online course, will be sent to your APSU WebMail account at the beginning of the semester.  For instructions on using and for access to WebMail, please visit http://www.apsu.edu/webmail.

  • You must provide your correct email to your online instructor.  Write an email to your instructor on or before the first day of classes to make sure they have a working email for you.

  • You must have a valid email address in the APSU WebMail system.  Click on the APWeb link to update your information.  Select the Registration link.  Enter you Student ID and PIN.  Update your email address.

Student On-Campus Orientations, Labs and Assessments for Online Courses

  • Student Online Orientation An electronic forum explaining the online process at APSU and describing what you will need to do to prepare for your online course.

  • APSU Library Distance Services for Students

  • Where you can get help
Everyone needs a hand now and then.  When using technology you should allow for some down time; some times things just don't work.  Should you need assistance, you can make contact with:

    1. Write the APSU HelpDesk
    2. Call the APSU HelpDesk at: 931-221-4357
    3. Contact the Instructional Technologist by phone at: 931-221-1014 or at penneys@apsu.edu.
    4. Contact the System Administrator electronically or by phone at: 931-221-7689
    5. You may also wish to contact a classmate to see if they are experiencing any problems with accessing the course or the course materials.

What about software?
You can get more helpful information on the software we use, system requirements, and accessing your online classes here!

What about textbooks?
Textbooks are available through the APSU bookstore.  Students are responsible for obtaining their textbooks, they may be purchased at the bookstore or you may order them by phone by calling 1-800-648-7655.  The books can be charged to a Visa or MasterCard, shipping is extra.
