Distance Learning Student Guide
Online Course Considerations
Online
students
receive a detailed course syllabus, study guides, textbooks and
written assignments to guide them through the courses. The course
instructor evaluates assignments, and may confer with the student by
telephone, e-mail, or in person.
Is
online learning right for you? It may be if you . .
.
are self-directed and goal oriented
learn independently
have the appropriate computer skills
and equipment
are able to set aside a specific time for
study, and stick to a
learning/studying
schedule
are
able to begin course activities within
the first week of classes
are
willing to contact
your instructor with
questions about the course
are
willing to contact the Distance
Education office with questions about
the technology
have
confidence in your
abilities and
committed to your education
