Interactive Video Conferencing

The Distance Education office implements video conferencing technology in real-time so that faculty, staff, and administrators at Austin Peay University can communicate on a classroom to classroom basis, classroom to any location in the United States, or allow for communications with various locations world wide.

The Distance Education office
provides technical support for video conference technology for both on-campus and far-site locations.  We are also instrumental in providing faculty with awareness of video conferencing techniques, pedagogy involved in video conferencing and distance learning techniques, and proper setup of equipment to initiate a video conference.  By providing technical support and being a liaison with your far-site connection, we enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of your video conference experience.

APSU interactive television facilities (ITV) are available to university users and the private sector.  These interactive television facilities are also referred to as videoconferencing facilities.  Through the use of today's technology, you can attend classes in your community--whether the class is being held in the next county or around the world.  This technology allows real time, two-way interactivity between instructor and classmates

APSU ITV facilities use Internet Protocol connections. Our facilities are available for classroom instruction, staff and professional development, and inter-institutional or inter-agency training and collaboration.  The facilities are also available to the private sector.  A facilities rate schedule is available.
