The following courses are taught by Nashville State Community College.

Reading
Students placed in reading courses may not enroll in college level reading intensive courses.

• DSPR 0700  - Basic Reading - 3 credit hours
  Intended to eliminate deficiencies in basic reading skills. Focuses on vocabulary, dictionary use, and literal and inferential reading skills. NOTE:  Nashville State Community College offers remedial level courses on the APSU campus.
    

• DSPR 0800  - Developmental Reading: College Reading Skills - 3 credit hours
  Uses textbook selections and other readings to develop skills in literal, inferential, critical and study reading as well as to introduce the use of reference materials.    

English
Students placed in writing may not enroll in reading and/or writing intensive college level courses.

• DSPW 0700  - Basic Writing - 3 credit hours
  Intended to eliminate deficiencies in basic writing skills for minimum proficiency. Focuses on spelling, mechanics, grammar and usage in the context of sentences and paragraphs. NOTE:  Nashville State Community College offers remedial level courses on the APSU campus.   

Mathematics
Students placed in mathematics may not enroll in mathematics intensive college level courses.

• DSPM 0700  - Basic Mathematics - 3 credit hours
  Provides remedial instruction in arithmetic topics including: whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents and measurements.  Also includes introductory prealgebra topics: study skills, integers, linear equations in one variable, algebraic expressions, word problems and the rectangular coordinate system.  NOTE:  Nashville State Community College offers remedial level courses on the APSU campus.
