Many of the private
scholarships at Austin Peay are awarded by the academic department involved. (Example:
The Frank and Gladys Buhler Scholarship in Health and Human Performance is awarded by that
department.) Prospective scholarship applicants should touch base with the office of their
particular major to apply for departmental specific scholarships.
Naming Opportunities
Scholarship
donors may establish scholarships and name them according to their
personal wishes. The desired minimum award is $500 per year.

What is the advantage to an endowed scholarship
fund?
An endowed scholarship at Austin Peay provides a lasting
tribute to a person or persons of a donors choice. An endowment of $20,000 to
$25,000 provides a $1,000 annual scholarship to a deserving student. The corpus of the
endowment is not invaded and thereby assures a legacy to the donor and will perpetually
