“Integrative learning” refers to course-delivery methods that facilitate the transfer of student knowledge between courses in which students are bundled. By integrating courses, faculty can help students interpret course content as extending beyond the confines of a single course.
Academic Affairs and the Center for Teaching and Learning co-sponsors the Integrative Learning Success Initiative (ILSI), which supports integrative-learning efforts at Austin Peay.
A stipend of $3,000 is paid to a team of at least two instructors who agree to bundle and integrate three courses that service incoming first-time freshmen in Fall 2013. In Spring 2013, selected teams are scheduled to participate in an integrative-teaching academy to learn more about different models and opportunities for integrating courses, and in Spring/Summer 2013, team members will work together to integrate their three courses for a pilot in Fall 2013.
Deadline for application submission was December 7, 2012.
