Art for Children - (ages 6-10)

From drawing to painting to sculpting, this course is just right for your aspiring artist. Each class and lesson is tailored for each individual child's skill level and interest. Whether you've taken this class before or not, your experience will be exactly what you want. Susan McGolrick has years of experience working with young artists and can help them unlock their abilities. 

Art for Teens - (ages 11-17)

Location: Trahern Building, room 403

Looking for a way to challenge your teen artist? This class is tailored for this unique age group to both hone their skills and keep them interested. Whether your child is new to art or has experience, this class will appeal to all levels. Students will have the opportunity to work with a variety of mediums and create fantastic works of art. 

Youth Ceramics - (ages 8-15)

Time: Saturdays, 10:30am - 11:45am
Dates: Mar 21 - May 9, class begins Mar 21
Location: Trahern Building, Room 101

If your younger child loves working with clay or shows a serious interest in learning, then this class is for them. Former APSU Ceramics student can teach your child the basics of pottery making and help them create beautiful pieces to bring home and share.

Portrait Drawing Workshop - (ages 11-17)

Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm
Date: Saturday, Februrary 28
Location: Trahern Building, room 402

Students will learn basic facial measurements and proportion. An introduction to drawing facial features (eyes, nose, mouth, etc.) and shading techniques.

Students will be given a lunch break. Lunch not provided. 

Basic Perspective Drawing Workshop (ages 11-17)

Location: Trahern Building, room 402

Students will learn how to use one and two point perspective drawing techniques in order to create space and realism in their drawings. 

Students will be given a lunch break. Lunch not provided. 

Pen and Ink Techniques Workshop (ages 11-17)

Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm
Date: Saturday, April 25
Location: Trahern Building, room 402

Students will learn to use line and create value with pen and ink techniques such as hatching, cross-hatching, contour hatching, sumbling, and stippling. Also a brief introduction to creating zentangle art. 

Students will be given a lunch break. Lunch not provided.
