Tom Torrisi is a graduate assistant in the guitar department at Austin Peay State University, where he is pursuing a Master’s of Music Degree in Classical Guitar Performance under Dr. Stanley Yates. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York, where he studied under Lynn McGrath and Dr. Doug Rubio. Before moving to Clarksville he taught guitar and bass lessons at Logan Studios Academy of Music in Clifton Park, New York.
As a performer he has been active in a number of diverse settings as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician. In 2013 he was selected to perform Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, with the APSU Symphony Orchestra as part of the annual APSU Concerto Competition. He was also awarded the first place prize in the 2013 Beethoven Club Competition in Memphis, Tennessee. He has performed in master classes with several world renowned musicians, including Ana Vidovic, Lorenzo Micheli, Marcin Dylla, Mateo Mela, Stephen Marchionda, and Thomas Vilateau.
