Theater for Children - (ages 8-12)

Theater is the perfect place for your "center of attention". This class will give your child their first adventures in the amazing world of theater. From storytelling to make believe, this class is tailored for each child and their individual needs and skill levels. Local actor and APSU graduate Edd Garcia has extensive experience with this age group and will guide your child through all that theater has to offer. Some classes even get to tour our theater facilities and meet with the actors and craftspeople. 

Theater for Teens - (ages 13-17)

Local theater instructor Marlaina Seay brings her extensive knowledge to this special class for your teen. If your child is already participating in a local theater program or is aspiring to, then this class can help. From stage work to audition preparation this class will meet each teen's individual needs. There is even an element of stagecraft throughout the course for those that prefer being behind the scenes. Tours of our local facilities and meetings with our actors and staff are part of the experience. This class is also a great opportunity for aspiring theater majors to get a taste of all APSU has to offer. 

Theater Workshop - Props (ages 11+)

Price: $25 each
Instructor: Marlaina Seay
Time: 10:00am - 3:00pm 
Date: Saturday, Feb 22
Location: Trahern Building, room 420A

This Saturday workshop looks at simple techniques for creating props.  Using fabric, foam or wood, glue, and painting techniques to create unusual or expensive props.  Need a huge tea cup for a production or photo shoot?  Need a centerpiece for a birthday party, but can’t afford the real thing?  Any age, any experience level can come and learn some basics to prop making! There will be a break midday for lunch. Lunch not provided.

Theater Workshop - Hand Sewing (ages 11+)

Price: $25 each

Time: 10:00am - 3:00pm

Have you ever learned to thread a needle?  Can you sew on your own buttons?   What happens if your hem falls down?  Costuming basics are life- long skills that can save you or your family money!  These basics are also great for creative students, future artists, scenic and interior designers.  Any age and any experience level can enjoy this class! There will be a midday break for lunch. Lunch not provided.

The remaining balance will be due one week prior to the start of the course unless prior arrangements for additional payments have been made with the CSA office. Please indicate which course/ensemble/workshop you're choosing when making your deposit. You will be notified before the start date to pay your balance. 

*The deposit is non-refundable. In the event the chosen course/ensemble/workshop is canceled or does not meet enrollment requirements your deposit will be refunded.
