Theatre for Children - (ages 6-10)

Theatre is the perfect place for your "center of attention". This class will give your child their first adventures in the amazing world of theatre. From storytelling to make believe, this class is tailored for each child and their individual needs and skill levels. Local actor and APSU graduate Edd Garcia has extensive experience with this age group and will guide your child through all that theatre has to offer. Some classes even get to tour our theatre facilities and meet with the actors and craftspeople. 

Workshop - Improvisation: Say Yes! (ages 14-17)

This could be the only time you'll be able to waltz with a pirate during an alien invasion on top of the Eiffel Tower! This improvisation workshop will teach the fundamentals of true "improv" and help develop young actors' imaginations by giving them free reign in an array of improv games. Throw aware the limitations set my memorized lines and static characters and discover an exciting journey within each skit, which will be completely made up on the spot. 

Workshop - Voice for the Young Actor (ages 14-17)

Tongue twisters, warm-ups, and tips for a healthy voice will all be covered in this workshop. Young actors will learn to speak with a clear, confident voice that will reach every seat in the house. No more worrying about bad diction or mumbling through a play. This workshop will improve bad speaking habits found in young actors and prepare them for cold readings in auditions.

Workshop - Theatrical Foam Carving (ages 14-17)

Techniques and tricks will be shown for how to make a variety of realistic objects from foam. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with a range of tools and approaches to create their own 3D object. 

Workshop - All the World's a Stage: Performing Shakespeare (ages 14-17)

Dive into some of the world's most beloved works by the Bard himself in this exciting workshop. Young actors will learn to throw away their fears of Shakespeare and find the beauty hidden behind the language. Additionally, young actors will learn how to apply this knowledge to modern scripts in order to become standouts in any audition. 

Workshop - Scenic Painting Techniques (ages 11-17)

Learn a variety of theatrical painting basics. Multiple approaches to woodgraining, scumbles, and spatters, shading, and shadow work, aging and distressing, and work from renderings.

Workshop - Character Makeup (ages 14-17)

Learn all the proper makeup techniques found in professional theatre along with how to build a custom makeup kit. This workshop will teach young actors healthy habits for applying and removing any character makeup along with a few fun techniques such aging!
