CSA Grace Note Youth String Orchestra (ages 7+)

The Grace Note Youth String Orchestra is open to string students comfortable with a minimum experience of Suzuki Book 1 Minuet No.3 or equivalent level of difficulty. Additional repertoire is offered to students comfortable with note reading and late Suzuki Book 3/beginning Book 4 or equivalent level of difficulty. Participation in this group requires a teacher recommendation. Auditions are given prior to each semester. Please contact our office for more information. The Grace Note Youth String Orchestra performs in December and May in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on the APSU campus along with the other CSA music ensembles. Other performing opportunities are available. 

Adult community members are welcome to participate at no cost. Contact the CSA office for more information.

CSA Youth Percussion Ensemble (ages 8-12)

Time: Tuesdays 6:00pm - 7:30pm

A wonderful new ensemble for the CSA that gives young children an opportunity to experience music through playing instruments designed for them. Mrs. Kortney Ross will guide the students in this ensemble using methods that are largely based on the Carl Orff method of music instruction. Students will be given opportunities to play on various percussion instruments, create their own music, and work as a group for performances. The CSA Youth Percussion Ensemble performs in December and May in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on the APSU campus along with the other CSA music ensembles. Other performing opportunities are available. No auditions required.

The ensemble performs in December and May in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on the APSU campus along with the other CSA music ensembles. Other performing opportunities are available. No auditions required.


Home School Music Class (Grades K-5) 

Price: $10 per student ($5 for additional sibling)csa-chorus.jpg.jpeg
Time: Wednesdays 11:15am - 12:10pm
Dates: March 19 - April 23
Location: MMC Room 147

ALL AGES GROUPS ARE FULL. Email Eric Branscome (branscomee@apsu.edu) to be added to a waiting list.

Lessons will be taught by senior-level APSU music education majors and supervised by Dr. Eric Branscome, APSU Coordinator of Music Education. Activities will include singing, playing instruments, movement, listening, music literacy, and musical performances by APSU music students and faculty.
