Edd Garcia has been teaching at the Community School of the Arts since earning his B.A. in theatre performance from Austin Peay State University in May of 2012. During his time at Austin Peay, Edd was a Teaching Artist at Lexington Children's Theater, was the president of the Theatre Organization for Youth by Students (TOYS), performed with the Clarksville Children's Theatre, and frequently appeared on the main stage at APSU.
Since graduating, Edd has worked with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival and taken part in Playhouse Nashville's ten minute play festival. In addition, Edd has been a member of the Nashville Improv Company since May of 2013. With the Nashville Improv Company he has performed alongside Laura Hall and Tara DeFrancisco and he has also performed in the Atlanta Blackbox Comedy Festival as well as the Chicago Improv Festival.
Edd's teaching philosophy is that play is the heart of learning, especially when it comes to young people. He strives to teach his students that not only are they capable of immense creativity, but it is something that they do every day without even thinking about it.
