Dasha Smith is a third year student at Austin Peay State University majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentration in Dance and Health and Human Performance. Dasha has had a strong passion to dance ever since she was a small child. Her dreams turned into reality when she was given the opportunity to learn Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lyrical in High School. When Dasha enrolled in college, her intentions were to major in Spanish and become a Spanish teacher or interpreter; after she took Intro to Dance at Austin Peay State University, she found her true calling as a dancer. Dasha has taken Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Choreography, and Theories of Teaching Dance. She has also performed in the APSU Spring Dance Concert 2012 and attended the American College Dance Festival Association’s dance conference in March of 2012.
Dasha hopes to continue to dance and share her knowledge of dance with people of all ages who love and want to learn how to dance. Dasha hopes that she can achieve this goal by giving back to her community not only in Clarksville, but in many places all over Tennessee.
